August 21, 22, and 23rd will mark the beginning of a series of fundraisers to establish the Brandon R. Daugherty Grant with the Northmont Education Foundation. $1,956. is currently sitting in the fund.  Some of this money was raised by Brandon's senior classmates.  We thank each and everyone!  The remainder was donated by persons unknown to us.  Again, thank you.

This fund must reach $6,000. to be used as a grant.  Our goal is (with a series of fundraisers) to raise at least $10,000. each year.  Our wish is for  funds to go into the tutoring programs at the Northmont Schools and possibly a scholarship awarded  to a deserving student to further his or  her education.

These programs are so very important to so many children!

Due to Brandon's illness (heart disease), he missed a lot of school.  Do you know how overwhelming it is to catch up constantly? I am sure many of you do.  Thanks to Northmont Schools and their wonderful staff Brandon had a shot at it. 

As I sat with Brandon (in the hospital waiting room at Children's Hospital in Pittsburg, Pa.) so many times we were very sad to  here of the struggles of other children who did not have these programs in their schools.

Brandon could have chosen to remain at home to get his education, but he did not want to.  It was so very hard for him.  Northmont Schools made the difference.  They not only supported him in his struggles, but also his parents. 

We promised to give back.  I cannot think of a better way than to help  children who are struggling (for many different reasons) to remain in school.  I am sure Brandon is very honored to have his birthday weekend designated to raise funds for  students who are struggling and in need of assistance.  Please help our children!  Give to the tutoring program.

Several business establishments in the area will be joining us in our fundraiser.  I will update this information as it becomes available to me.  Donations can be made to the Northmont Education Foundation, "Brandon R.
